Abhimanyu’s Chakravyu …

After I re-vamped my blog and jumped on to the Web2.0 bandwagon with the ‘ever-so-cheesy’ tech verbiage of everything being v2.0, I noticed that my good friend Abhimanyu Radhakrishnan left me a comment and tagged himself as “Abhi2.0

Well, it seems that Abhimanyu has indeed gone 2.0 with his new blog - Life In The Chakravyu. Manyu who already blogs at MoneyControl’s Evening Edition blog and IBNLive has launched his personal blog as a personal journal & mirror blog.

When Spammers Caught Me Off-Guard, Firefox Came To The Rescue …

I would surely consider myself to be an advanced user on the internet and a pretty ‘net-aware’ person, but I realised that even guys like me can be tricked by spammers or let’s be more specific, by phishers !!

Google becomes #1 Spot for MBA’s

Want to attract MBAs? Be more like Google !!

It was only a couple of months back when I was going through my friend Anuj’s application essays to ISBand was particularly intrigued by a question. The question was “You are applying to your dream job after ISB. Please prepare a cover letter accompanying your CV.”

Although Anuj, did a wonderful job at answering the question, I started to think what could have been my answer to the same question. And soon enough I had my mind convinced on drafting a cover letter to the ‘Big G’.

Guy Kawasaki on 10 Tips For Successful Innovation …

I just came across a brilliant post by Joe Lewis at WebProNews, where he has summarized Guy Kawasaki’s opening keynote address at this year’s PubCon. In his talk, Guy has given a detailed overview outlining ten specific points that innovative companies should heed when developing new products and services.

Having long read Guy’s amazing book ‘Art of the Start’, I know the points outlined in Joe’s post and can vouch for a fact that this is some very, very useful information. Infact, I would urge each one of you to invest in Guy’s book if you haven’t already done so. Its a brilliant read, and there is so much more that he talks about.

Internet Marketers Backlash: Sherman Hu v/s Wordpress Matt

I would admit to the fact that I just love Wordpress and I believe it is one of those amazing apps that turn people into Evangelists! And having created or atleast started the entire Wordpress project, Matt Mullenweg has branded himself as a ‘demigod’ in the blogging community… but it seems that something has got Matt pissed. And I believe that something isn’t a bad something!

It turns out that, Matt has sent Sherman Hu (who is a well known Internet Marketer) a cease and desist letter, asking him to stop violating WordPress’ trademark and intellectual rights — apparently for using the word “WordPress” in his domain name -WordpressTutorials.com

Google Laps Up JotSpot …

Remember my post from coupla months back on the subject of “The Long Tail“? Well, if you do, I am sure you can also remember my fondness for Joe Kraus’s idea about the ‘Long Tail of Software’ and especially his PowerPoint pitch for his company JotSpot.com

Well, I guess someone at Google must have seen the same pitch, because Google recently announced its acquisition of JotSpot.

How IE7 forced me to change my blog …

Couple of days back, I decided to download and install the all new Microsoft Internet Explorer 7. And I must say, that I have been greatly impressed. After having used FireFox(while I was in Dubai) for quite sometime, I became quite a fan of tabbed browsing, and when I saw that IE7 has incorporated the same, I was really glad that I could now use IE with the FireFox like feature. And that’s not all … IE7 comes packed with all features fire-foxy. To list a few, it has support for RSS feeds, improved user interface, inbuilt search and also the ability to have add-ons (IE7 Addons). Although, the add-on’s would not quite compare to the those we have for FireFox, but it sure is a great move. Infact I even found a Internet Marketing Toolbar called the VRE Toolbar.

Jawed Karim : The 3rd of YouTube.com’s Three Founders

Ohh Yeah, there is one more ‘King Ka-ching’ behind the whole $1.65bn YouTube.com acquisition by the Big G. Like most of the people(including my friend Kedar) , I too have been closely following the Google takeover, and there is a whole lot being said about the deal. But very few people actually know that there is a 3rd founder involved with the YouTube team.

YouTube founders Chad Hurley, Steven Chen and Jawed Karim

My 1st Film Looplet …

After having seen almost over a hundred different looplets all over the web, I finally got around to downloading FilmLoop software. Why didnt I do that earlier … well, well … the silly me always believed that FilmLoop just works with Flickr, and I am (surprisingly) not much of a flickr fan or user.

But anyways, now that I have ridden myself of the misconception, I would advise one and all to check out the slick tool they have at FilmLoop. Its very easy to use and generates fascinating flash looplets which can be hosted on your blogs, websites and myspace pages. And for all you Web2.0 fans, I am sure you’ll love the Web2.0ish features of this software.

MegaMasterClass 2006 : What happened to the test?

Just wanted to give you guys a very quick update as to what happened with the small SEO test I did using the keyword “MegaMasterClass”. Well, some of the Google data-centres have cached the most recent page of my blog and hopefully I should soon see results on Google.com, but as of now the most recent snapshot of my site’s cached page in Big G’s index doesn’t show the ‘test’ post. So, I guess we’ll have to wait for the Google results to show up !

But, I did check MSN and Yahoo and am quite happy with the results .. :)
