Its been estimated by Technorati that over 75,000 blogs are being added to the WWW’s blogosphere everyday. That’s like having a blog every second !!
I tried to look for some more interesting figures and landed on David Sifry’s blog. Here are some images that will give you an idea of the phenomenal growth that ‘blogs’ have acheived.

Business 2.0 Magazine’s senior writers, Michael V. Copeland and Om Malik, claim now is the time for entrepreneurs, to make the most out of the new technologies which are creating new business opportunities, and radically reducing costs for startups. But they warn … Success is as difficult as ever !
So, why such a statement? Probably, due to the notable upsurge in VC funding for any business idea tagged(pun intended) as Web 2.0 … well that would be normal considering the fact social networking sites like myspace and the likes were acquired for multi-million $’s !!

Came across an interesting article while going through the weekly newsletter from Axandra. It talks about Google’s new spider and its implications to your adwords ads and webpages. I’ll follow it up with some commentary on keyword arbitrage. Checkout …
Google is using a new crawler software program for their AdWords advertising system that automatically spiders and analyzes the content of advertising landing pages. The name of the new crawler is AdsBot-Google. If you see such an entry in your web logs then your web site been visited by the new bot.
How Will This Affect Your Adwords Ads?

I was over at Jim Boykin’s blog reading about the Co-citation theory which he (and I in my last post) blogged on. While at his blog I also noticed his post on a $39 experiment by Tom Locke. Tom is an average guy (as he claims to be) who happened to run an experiment with a roll of stamps worth $39. What he did was write letters to various companies seeking freebies… ! You an check out Tom Locke’s $39 experiment webpage here. What he has also pulled off is a great viral marketing stunt which has earned him lots of links(and publicity) all over the net, and also a PR of 7…. ! I could figure that Tom is now making money selling links from his high PR page (scroll right down on his webpage)

I came across a very interesting article on link building and thought I should share it. Its about co-citation, i.e. what other sites that link to you say about you. It is interesting for 2 main reasons : One, because it will help you in understanding how search engines will evaluate your link building efforts, and Two, because it represents a major trend of all search engines towards becoming more ‘natural’.
When you read the following article try to draw an analogy with ‘Social Proof’ aspect. It is very similar to what we have in normal lives !

As soon as I wrote the title for this post, my mind started rushing through the entire day I spent yesterday at the Internet World 2006 event at Earls Court. There is so much to discuss, so much to tell, so much to share …. !
Well, I’ll try and post most of the cruxy stuff (also feeeding in some ‘not so important’ matter for good measure ! ) including major takeaways from the seminars I attended, what I learnt from interacting with some of the guys and some cool things I never thought I’d see in such an event !

Come 9th May, and I’ll be preparing myself for a trip to Earls Court to be a part of the Internet World Event. Boasting 150 keynotes and case studies to be delivered by some of the best brains in the industry and over 200 leading exhibitors … Internet World 2006 surely makes a must visit on my daily dairy !

Interesting would be to comment on their claim which goes …
Has there ever been a more important time to invest a day at Internet World?

University of New South Wales PhD student, Ori Allon, has invented a method of exploring the web, which is claimed could revolutionize existing search results.
The search engine, called Orion, finds pages where the content is about a topic strongly related to the keyword.
Instead of just returning just a snippet (the brief info/description that is displayed for a webpage in normal SE’s), Orion returns a section of the relevant page and also lists other topics related to that particular keyword. The user can now select the most relevant results in context of what they are searching for.
