Just wanted to give you guys a very quick update as to what happened with the small SEO test I did using the keyword “MegaMasterClass”. Well, some of the Google data-centres have cached the most recent page of my blog and hopefully I should soon see results on Google.com, but as of now the most recent snapshot of my site’s cached page in Big G’s index doesn’t show the ‘test’ post. So, I guess we’ll have to wait for the Google results to show up !
But, I did check MSN and Yahoo and am quite happy with the results .. :)
Last coupla of days have been really, really tiring … But, I am not complaining ! Well, the reason is I have been attending the MegaMasterClass 2006 UK Seminar hosted by Alan Forrest Smith, for the last couple of days. Megamasterclass is hosted in Egham (a small but lovely lil’ town in surrey)at a luxury spa resort - The Savill Court Hotel. I have been totally exhilarated by the content delivered over the past two days and am looking forward to the last day tommorow. I am sorry, if you guys are looking for any meaty stuff here, but this post is a follow up to what I thought might be a nice little test to showcase the power of SEO and Wordpress. I’ll be doing a post on “MegaMasterClass : What I Learnt” in the coming few days, provided I don’t laze the sunday off !
Last week, we had what some call, a ‘fusion event’ which attracts the best from the worlds of Advertising/Marketing and that of Technology. Yes, that was precisely what Ad:Tech London was all about - All that’s new media !
As the market for Online Advertising increases, events like Ad:Tech London and Internet World are gaining more and more popularity. What makes such events more popular and accessible to general audience is the diversity of exhibitors and also the great conferences which cover topics ranging from email marketing to mobile marketing, affiliates to user-generated content. The focus, here, is not on the technology driving the various sectors but on the practical experience that will allow people to innovate, experiment and capitalise on this change.
Come 9th September, and there will be a horde of bloggers gathered at the Tidel Park in Chennai, India. With more and more Indians staking their claim in the coveted blogosphere, an event like BlogCamp.in will go a long way in creating more awareness and helping numerous others to join the phenomenon. Infact, Robert Scoble, blogged saying that the Indian BlogCamp woul be be bigger than TechCrunch !!
The event will be a unique theme as Unconferences are immensely popular because of active participation of attendees, where everyone will be encouraged to have conversations around areas that interest them. Chaotic as that sounds, it sparks off many new ideas and is a whole lot of fun.
I recently came across a very intriguing interview involving marketing legend - Dr Philip Kotler, his eminent colleague at the Kellogg School of Management - Dr Bala V Balachandran and PagalGuy.com founder - Allwin Agnel.
PagalGuy.com has made available the audio and transcripts of the interview. They were also kind enough to allow me to host the audio file on my blog and share it with my readers. So, you can also listen to the interview by clicking on the ‘play’ button below !
It all started last month, when I spotted the cool iPod-integration kit introduced by Mercedes. I was quite excited with the cool use of technology and the innovative idea, that I started spreading the word around [talk about Evangelism .. :)]. I also went on to blog about the same and even submitted it as a cool trend at TrendHunter.com. I was quite amazed by the TrendHunter site and the idea behind having such a site. Well, so I submitted my trend and kept checking back for the next couple of days to see if it was included or not. When it wasn’t , I simply forgot about it.
Lately, I have been reading a lot about the “Long Tail” of everything. The phrase - The Long Tail - was first used by Wired Magazine’s editor Chris Anderson. The concept drew in part from an influential essay by Clay Shirky, “Power Laws, Weblogs and Inequality” that noted that a relative handful of weblogs have many links going into them but “the long tail” of millions of weblogs may have only a handful of links going into them. Anderson went on to extend on that same idea by drawing a perspective on the effects of the long tail on current and future business models.
After a temporary test, by Google’s Adsense team in June .. it seems Big G has finally rolled out their new Site Diagnostics Tool. Following is a screenshot of the new Tab that was added to my (and mostly all other adsense publisher accounts) …
The section will ideally report the Google Adsense-Bot’s accessibilty to your websites / URLs. If our the bot is having trouble reaching any of your pages, you’ll see those URLs listed in the Blocked URLs section of the Site Diagnostics table.
At the moment, Google claims to be displaying two types of errors:
This is my second attempt(1st attempt was 30 mins back when my browser crashed!) at writing the very same post, and I know it won’t be as thorough as the initial one. But here it is anyways …
After I launched my blog in late March this year, I was constantly on the lookout for a good stats reporting system. After googling for related wordpress plugins, I ended up downloading the much talked about WP-ShortStat. I started using the same and wasn’t really happy with the results, leading me to opt for another plugin - this time StatTraq! It was immediately that I developed a liking for this stat reporting tool and I have been using it (and will continue to) daily to take a bird-eye’s view of what is happening on my blog.
A few weeks back I decided to try something other than just cranking out ‘one more’ niche portal. I decided to learn and experiment with building lists and promoting to them. So with that in mind, I enrolled as an affiliate for a new product that was on the brink of a huge online launch. I slapped up a grabber page for the same and started advertising on yahoo/overture … and did something which I never intended to do … forgot about it !!!
