Saumil’s Babble Belt

Here is something new for those of you who have got used to my flashy post titles. This one, as you can see is very simple … so then why have I used it? Well, there are quite a few reasons, the foremost being the context of this title is much more than just me talking about some generic updates in my life. But more than that, I used it ‘coz I couldn’t come up with anything else. (there you go!)

So, rather than doing an essay type post, lemme do a quick list here …

Update 1 : After dumping the Wordpress 2.0.4 update, I finally decided to take some time off for the new v2.0.5 update - Ronan. After a successful upgrade, which took me close to 30 mins to, this is my 1st post ! Wordpress has fast become the first choice for many professional as well as amateur bloggers and SEO professionals; and with the venerable 2.0 series being downloaded over 1.2 million times, these people sure can’t be wrong. With ‘Ronan - 2.0.5′ update .. Team Wordpress broke the tradition of naming releases after jazz musicians to congratulate Ryan Boren on his new son (and first WP baby) Ronan. Any of you who is thinking about starting their own blog (and those who want to make a shift from their existing blog platform), just get yourself a free copy of wordpress and start blogging. Its an awesome platform and I am in full accordance with the guys at WP when they say … Code Is Poetry !

Update 2 : Being the bibliomaniac that I am, I went ahead and ordered yet another set of couple of books last weekend. This time the books are Presenting To Win by Jerry Weissman and The Long Tail by Chris Anderson … I have started with Jerry’s book and loving it already. Would surely help me a lot for my upcoming seminar this Saturday !

    

Update 3 : After successful starts with The Cool Scrolls and GadgetWala, my buddy Kedar has started yet another blog. This time a photo blog called Camera Obscura. In his own words … “The world is full of BEAUTY. Even a dreary scene can look spectacular with a small change in LIGHT. A small change in PERSPECTIVE. A small change in YOU. It all depends on how you look at it.”

Update 4 : I am drowned with work recently, and that speaks for the reduced frequency of blog posts, but that is not an excuse or complaint. Actually, I am very happy with the work I’ve been putting in recently. And one of things I am really looking forward to is the IM workshop coming up on saturday. I just spent sometime chatting with my pal Daniel Wagner over the phone, and it seems we are going to have a great event ! For those of you who are in the UK and would like to join can head over to Secret Shortcuts and register.

Update 5 : It seems I am finally going to have some Dosas. I haven’t had dosas after having moved to London, but it seems the wait is finally over. I am meeting up with a friend from school and we are heading to woodlands !!
