Google Laps Up JotSpot …
Remember my post from coupla months back on the subject of “The Long Tail“? Well, if you do, I am sure you can also remember my fondness for Joe Kraus’s idea about the ‘Long Tail of Software’ and especially his PowerPoint pitch for his company JotSpot.com
Well, I guess someone at Google must have seen the same pitch, because Google recently announced its acquisition of JotSpot.
It seems that Joe Kraus and his partner Graham Spencer can’t seem to stay away from search engines for to long (considering the fact that both of them started Excite.com before JotSpot)
Declaring himself as a Googler, Joe writes in his blogpost for the official Google Blog that Google’s moves in buying Writely, launching Google Groups, and Google Spreadsheets fit in with JotSpots’ vision for how groups of people can create, manage and share information online.
For those of you who have no clue about JotSpot … Jot.com aimed at bringing the world of wikis to the commercial world. As Joe says, he wanted to bring the features wiki offered from the world of nerds to the world of Business users.

JotSpot’s wiki allows you to create rich web-based spreadsheets, calendars, documents and photo galleries. It’s as easy as using a word processor — you don’t need to know HTML. Thousands of businesses are using JotSpot to manage projects, build an intranet, share files and stay in sync with colleagues and customers.
