Nehru and Indira held India back?

I came across a rather debatable article written by Dr. Jay Dubashi, where he claims that Nehru and Indira were scared of Indian businessmen getting too big for their boots. So they tried to keep them deliberately down !

Normally, I would not have raised a brow over such postings as they are mostly rants from people who were not even there when Nehru and Indira ran the country. But a rant from Dr. Dubashi (his articles are usually the same) warranted more attention. For those of you who don’t have any idea about who Dr. Dubashi is, here is some help - Dr. Jay Dubashi is in his 70’s, has a Ph.D. from LSE, used to head BJP’s economic cell. He also business editor of India Today (late 70’s, early 80’s), chief economist of FICCI and a columnist for RSS weekly, Organiser. From whatever I have read, I can make out that he knows a lot about Tatas, sat and laughed with business legends like Dhirubhai and writes with flair !
