Microsoft’s New Secret Weapon

Commentary : This news reminds me of the time I spent wandering around the Chinese pavilion at the GITEX 2005 show in Dubai. There was a slew of asian companies offering their ‘hardwares’ and ‘technology’ to the western world. The acquirers can simply decide on the design and other details and can brand their logo !
This was always a case with designer garments. After having come to UK, my stock of designer stuff has gone up (thanks to the wonderful cousins and relatives, I have) and each time I look at the tags, I read a ‘Made in India’ or a Made-in-some-asian-country mark. Wonder how much they pay the asian companies who actually make these garments.
While I was writing the post, I looked further into HTC’s operation and found out that they are the providers of most of the smartphones we use in the UK !! Now, I know how the vodaphones, O2’s and t-mobiles are giving away free phones with their (high) tariff plans ! Look up HTC’s page at Wikipedia … it actually has more information that the company’s corporate website !!
