There was a time when you could just name your blog … Jimmy’s Blog … or Rachael’s Diary , and be done with it, but with the growing overabundance of blogs in todays virtual world it has become important to have a different, more witty title.
Atleast that’s my belief.
I took my time looking for a title that would make sense and still sound fresh (xyz’s thoughts, ramblings of a xyz nerd, are all so passe now .. not taking anything away from the titles, but just the fact that its as common as tom,dick,harry). Yeah, so before I decided on calling my blog ‘da babble belt’ , I googled everything from ‘blog titles’ to ‘blog name generator’ !

I decided against having a blogger blog, and was more keen on hosting it on my own servers using wordpress. I snapped up saumilpatel.com a couple of weeks back while I was in Dubai working on a training program(it was an impulse buy, guess i was in the excited state of mind I refferred to in my first post). I always thought I had a pretty unique name, but one search on google and you’ll find out how wrong I was ! There’s a cricketer, a famous author, a businessman and many more who share the label with me ! But anyways, thats not what I want to write about in this post.

I always wanted to have a blog !
I am glad that I finally have one.
Everytime I used to read a good blogpost or saw a friend start his/her own blog, I would get charged up and start thinking about having one of my own. But that feeling would fade away after a few hours. The excitement, following the fade out always left me in an ambigous state of mind whether or not to have a blog … but I guess in the end the optimist in me took charge and pushed myself enough to get one going !
